Before this Belgian musical duo was formed in 2003, Jolente De Maeyer and Nikolaas Kende were winning competitions and performing extensively as solo artists. The duo has gained rapid success, performing in all the important concert halls and festivals in Belgium and giving concerts in France, Holland, Spain, Germany, Italy, and recently in the U.S. Their 2016 CD won the ‘Gold Label Prize’ for best chamber music album from Klassiek Centraal in Begium, which declared, “[De Maeyer Kende] evoke fire, passion, struggle and intimacy with their CD ‘Kreutzer sonata.'” Their program in Fullerton includes sonatas by Schubert and Mendelssohn, as well as Beethoven’s Kreutzer Sonata.
