Meritáge Presents SONG OF THE OPEN ROAD

Come travel on the Eclectic Highway, with Norman Dello Joio's dynamic choral setting of the Walt Whitman poem, Song of the Open Road, featuring Trumpet soloist, Rich Chasin.  Following this travel theme, Meritáge will perform a beguiling variety of selections including Zigeunerleben (Gypsy's life) by Robert Schumann to a new Mark Peter arrangement of The Long and Winding Road by the Beatles. A Stephen Paulus piece, The Road Home, will also share the bill with a haunting new arrangement of Shenandoah for Mens chorus. The program also includes an Australian bush song, Dawn, and James Taylor's classic, That Lonesome Road.
