Mostly Blues Festival: Keb' Mo' with Sunny War and Jackie Venson

Keb’ began his music career playing with Jefferson Airplane violinist Papa John Creach. Over the next few decades, he has established himself as a powerfully expressive guitarist, songwriter, and performer. He has also devoted himself to environmental and racial justice activism and is a longtime ambassador for the non-profit Playing For Change Foundation, which provides music education and basic needs to children around the world.

Joining him are two opening acts. One is Los Angeles-based folk-punk guitarist Sunny War. Sometimes drawing comparisons to legendary blues guitarist Robert Johnson, the poetic virtuoso is well-respected in the folk music scene for her expressive finger-picking style. The other is Jackie Venson, who the Austin American-Statesman describes as “a Gary Clark Jr.-level talent who speaks boldly through her guitar.”
