OC premiere screening of Israeli film, AULCIE

Director Dani Menkin tells the inspirational story of this remarkable athlete, Aulcie Perry, ,Israel’s adopted and most beloved son who overcame drug addiction, sought redemption and found his way back to Israel. The last to be cut from the Knicks in 1976, Aulcie Perry was scouted for Maccabi Tel Aviv while playing in Harlem, and the Israeli players quickly took to his leadership. To the surprise of many, he converted to Judaism, adopted the Hebrew name Elisha Ben Avraham and bercame an Israeli citizen. But his charmed life came to an end when he was jailed in the US for narcotics smuggling, an end result of his growing addiction to drugs. Sentenced to 10 years in jail, he overcame his addiction and is now committed to working with youth in Israel and across the world and confronting the dangers of addiction and abuse.
