Artist Mary Beierle grew up alongside the Los Angeles Mountains and has trekked throughout the mountains and glaciers of the American West. The tectonic shifts and visual effect in that rugged terrain are major influences in her work.
Her “Monolith” sculptures, which resemble glaciers, emerge and recede in space. With pieces ranging in size from miniature to massive, Beierle creates art that viewers can touch, peer into, and encounter from various perspectives.
