Made at a time when America was coming to terms with what it meant to be a modern nation, the quilts in this exhibit unfold the stories of more than 140 years in American quilting.
From pieced block to Crazy style to Colonial Revival examples as well as one-of-a-kind creations, Quilts offers a valuable visual and tactile understanding of American culture and society, bridging the transition from traditional folk culture to the age of mass production and consumption.
