Re:borN Arts Dance Festival 2022

Orange County’s celebrated dance company Re:borN Dance Interactive will organize their inaugural Reborn Arts Dance Festival 2022 on August 12-13 in Placentia and Santa Ana, California. The festival’s mission is to bring together and uplift fellow Orange County dance companies in a celebration of movement and live art.

The vision of Reborn Arts is to revive community through the power of catharsis, utilizing movement and art. In this, the definition of catharsis is “the process of releasing, and thereby providing relief from, strong or repressed emotions.”

Boroka Nagy, Festival director and founder of Re:borN Dance Interactive says, “Dance is so powerful because it can transcend cultural, social, gender, socioeconomic, generational, and language barriers. In a world that has become increasingly chaotic, and as the dance world starts to revive post-Covid closures, I hope Reborn Arts Dance Festival can provide a platform not only for Orange County dance companies to share their art but for the OC dance community as a whole to have a shared experience in the live theater space.”

The Festival brings together 5 Orange County dance companies and their communities under one roof in a celebration of live art, using the power of dance to express, uplift, and heal.

Additionally, with 6 Master Dance Classes from the companies presenting work, the Reborn Arts Dance Festival aims to re-ignite the community and the shared passion for dance amongst veteran and new dancers in the county. With this, the mission of the festival extends to “provide life-giving movement experiences that break cycles of isolation, complacency, uniformity, and apathy, and encourage community, creativity, diversity, and expression. We need life-affirming experiences more than ever,” adds Nagy.
