Resounding! 42nd Season: The Joy of the Dance

Nicolas Poussin: The Dance to the Music of Time c.1640, detail. The Wallace Collection, London

Elizabeth Blumenstock and friends perform lively dances from across Baroque-era Europe including suites by Schmelzer and Marini, Spanish guitar music, and traditional medleys from the British Isles.

A wide-ranging instrumental concert of dances from the British Isles, Italy, Spain, France, Germany and Austria, showcasing the variety and richness in Baroque-era dance music. Perhaps you remember the joyous “Dancing in the Isles” program in 2016? Come for more toe-tapping traditional medleys on Friday night, making the most of the excellent acoustics at St. Michael and All Angels in Corona del Mar.
