Summer Nature Camp

Campers will spend most of their time outside, exploring nature up close using tools like binoculars, magnifying lenses and microscopes. Science concepts are introduced in a fun, interactive environment, using crafts, games and other hands-on activities.

Our Campers are divided into groups by grade level. Curricula and activities are designed for these different age groups, which are developmentally distinct from each other.

Nature Camp is open to children entering kindergarten through third grade in fall of 2017. All campers must be at least 5 years old by the first day of camp.

Students entering 7th and 8th grade in the Fall can apply for the  Order of the Raven experience, which teaches tracking, fire-making and first aid and emphasizes leadership roles and conscious community involvement.

All camp registrations are open until 12PM on the weekday preceding the start of the camp or until full. Enrollment is limited to small classes of 15 students per teacher with a high school assistant.

Most of the Camp Teachers are our Naturalists who teach here throughout the school year. A few exceptional individuals join us to compliment our amazing team (they also work year round in the outdoor environmental education field). All of our teachers are exceptionally qualified in elementary science education and represent a wide range of expertise in the Orange County educational community. Camp teachers develop their own curricula and turn it into our Camp Director two weeks before the start of each camp. Each week has a different theme and different activities, so feel free to sign up for more than one session!
