About the Exhibition:
The post-World War II influence of Beatnik poetry, jazz and art interpretation around the California Coast created a revolution in the Orange County surf world. This exhibition defines the connection between the Beat Culture of the 1950’s to Surf Art and culture. GALLERY HOURS: Monday – Thursday, and Saturday: 12 – 4pm Closed: Friday, Sunday, major holidays, and periods of University closure. MISSION STATEMENT: It is the mission of the Cal State Fullerton Begovich Gallery to collect art and present exhibitions that contribute to the experience of learning about and better understanding visual culture. The regional focus of the exhibitions is Southern California, but also includes national and international projects that merit scholarly attention. PARKING: Park in the Nutwood parking structure at St. College Blvd./Arts Drive. Parking on weekends is free starting at 5 pm, Fridays. At all other times, daily permits are required and can be purchased for $8 upon entering the parking structure/lots.
