The Dulcimer Time Journey Experience

Scott Williams is a multi-instrumentalist and recording artist that brings the unique sound of the hammered dulcimer into the Katie Wheeler Library for an afternoon of instrumental music that is sure to uplift your spirit. His repertoire of soothing songs encompasses Renaissance, Celtic, Civil War, rock and roll, classical, Christmas, and hymnals spanning centuries of musical genres and styles. It will captivate your mind as you recognize some of your favorite songs, hymns, and movies.

As a multi-instrumentalist, Scott records his own accompaniment with acoustic guitars, bass, percussion, and strings to provide an interesting sound palette, all of which is fed though a stereo speaker system. Since the hammered dulcimer is so unusual and has an ancient history, Scott enjoys walking the dulcimer around a room to educate an audience about its origins and to give them a closer look at the beauty of the instrument.
