A pupil of Arcangelo Corelli disciple, Francesco Geminiani, and skilled in his ability to rearrange the works of the Italian Baroque masters, English organist, Charles Avison, decided to interpret selections of keyboard sketches into a concerti grossi that captures the dexterity and grace of a contemporary he admired greatly for his unparalleled skill on the harpsichord, Domenico Scarlatti.
Along with performing four exquisite concertos that Avison wrote, our concert will also feature solo recitals of Scarlatti’s keyboard sonatas from our Artistic Director and renowned harpsichordist, Dr. Ian Pritchard.
