POSTPONED: The Nerd

In response to COVID-19 and the recent notification from the City of San Juan Capistrano declaring a local emergency and ordering the postponing or cancellation of gatherings over 250 persons and smaller assemblies that do not allow social distancing of six feet per person, Camino Real Playhouse has chosen to postpone the next two shows of our current season. If you hold tickets for The Nerd and/or The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time your tickets will be transferred to the new production dates in June and July. Looking to the future – we will be announcing our 2020-202 Season soon! On behalf of our Management Team and our Board of Directors we thank you for your continued support.

This hilarious comedy is loaded with fun surprises! It’s late 1979 in Terre Haute, Indiana and our young architect, Willum, is celebrating his thirty-fourth birthday. He has an unexpected visit from a fellow ex-GI, Rick Steadman, who he has never met but did save his life during service in Vietnam. Initially Willum is delighted, however, Rick’s awkward manner and inappropriate behavior throw the occasion into shambles cause quite the social dilemma.
