Young Artists Concerto Competition

The Orchestra Collective of Orange County (OCofOC) 2023/24 Season launches on Sunday, October 1st, with our annual Young Artists Concerto Competition in partnership with JCM and CAPMT8.

Piano virtuoso Helaine Zhao plays one of the best known of all piano concerti, Tchaikovsky’s first. CSUN Youth Philharmonic concertmaster Sophie Bell plays one of the most important works in violin repertoire, Dvořák’s Violin Concerto. Violinist turned pianist Victoria Sun passionately approaches the drama and contrast in Beethoven’s second Piano Concerto. Violin prodigy Aaron Liu shines with Sarasate’s violin staple Zigeunerweisen. And celebrated cellist Ryan Yang is sure to thrill with one of the greatest of all cello concertos, Saint-Saëns’ first.
