In 2011, Donald Trump attempted to block this important film from ever reaching the public, calling it “defamatory
and “misleading.” In triumphant response, the BBC refused to kowtow to Trump, broadcasting YOU’VE BEEN TRUMPED regardless, noting Trump’s repeated refusals to speak with the film’s production team, despite being repeatedly made aware of the project.

Anthony Baxter’s emotionally potent documentary takes place at the contested site of a future Trump-funded luxury gold course in Balmedie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Local residents, as well as legal and governmental authorities, were not super enthusiastic about miles of historic, scenic beaches being destroyed at the whim of an outside presence. YOU’VE BEEN TRUMPED follows the long, difficult struggle to protect Balmedie from Trump.
