Upstream of the Carbon Canyon Dam lies 124-acre Carbon Canyon Regional Park. Sixty acres are developed, offering large, grassy areas for picnicking, sports facilities that include backstops and lighted tennis courts, and a 4-acre lake with two piers for fishing. The undeveloped area features a trail that leads to Orange County’s only grove of redwoods; 3 acres of majestic Coastal Redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens).

Park Hours: Fall – Winter Hours, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. PST
Park Hours: Spring – Summer Hours, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. PDT
Office Hours: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday – Friday

Parking fees: $3 per vehicle entry Monday – Friday; $5 Saturday – Sunday; Higher for some holidays and events

Our Response to COVID-19:

To ensure appropriate social distancing and reduce places of gathering, County park closures will include: parking lots at all County beaches, regional and wilderness parks; parking spaces at all trailheads; parking lots at Irvine Lake; parking along Black Star Canyon Road; pedestrian access points at Thousand Steps, Table Rock, West, Camel Point and Treasure Island beaches; restrooms; playgrounds; exercise equipment; shelters and trailheads. Passive walk-through pedestrian, cycling, and equestrian activity is permitted.
