Daroo Korean Performing Arts and Culture
Through activities that seek the roots of Korean culture, we aim to revisit and reinforce our cultural identity and pride among the Korean-American community while promoting our culture to other ethnic groups. Our goals include:
- Organizing year-round cultural events and more to continuously promote Korean culture.
- Establishing the “Korean Culture Street” to create a dedicated space for Korean culture.
- Discovering and supporting talented aspiring traditional Korean musicians to carry on the tradition of Korean traditional music.
- Establishing Korean wave (Hallyu) in our community.
COVID-19 UPDATES & INFORMATION
Our Response to COVID-19:
- We planned and conducted more online performances and events. Instead of traditional in-person performances, our organization have shifted to virtual or online platforms to offer concerts, shows, workshops, and other events to customers. This allows audiences to enjoy performances from the safety of their homes.
- We porvided more virtual classes and workshops. As a performing arts organization, we offered many chances of virtual classes and workshops for students and artists to continue their artistic development.
- Health Protocols for In-Person Rehearsals/Performances, we provided PPE for performers and staff, and maintaining social distancing.
- To provid more opportunities to our customers and students we offered streaming services the performances. That allowed customers to watch live or recorded shows online. This helped generate revenue and reach a broader audience beyond the physical location of the venue.

This is part of Seo Yunwoon Korean Opera 6H Performance. In 2022, Seo Yunwoon performed the Korean opera, Pansori "Simcheong-ga," for 5 hours in Los Angeles. This was the first time the entire song had been performed in one sitting, as it is a long and difficult piece to perform at a single event even in South Korea. The performance was a great success. This video is for the last part of the performance.
