Jazz Spectrum Dance Company

Jazz Spectrum Dance Company (JSDC) was founded in 1987 by Christine Baltes (1951-2018). A female powerhouse, Ms. Baltes created over 30 choreographic masterpieces for the company. Through style and precision, it is JSDC’s mission to promote and educate on the art of Jazz Dance. Although classical in technique, Jazz Spectrum Dance Company is also known for a having a “sensuous side” and performing with “great clarity” (La Dance Chronicle). JSDC has held concerts throughout the United States and presented work at festivals including Jazz Dance World Congress, Jazz Dance LA, & many more. Janell Burgess currently serves as the Artistic Director for JSDC.
