Founded in 1776, this restored mission offers a glimpse into Spanish colonial history and its influence on the area’s culture. Roam the ten-acre site guided by a digital podcast that tells the stories behind colorful gardens, preserved statues and exhibits that detail how the original inhabitants lived. Historic Serra Chapel circa 1782 is still open to our guests to walk through but remains closed for services. There are plenty of outdoor spaces to tour and explore while indoor museum spaces are closed. Listen to our multi-language audio tour to still learn the history of all the areas of the Mission.
