Round About Players

The Mission of Round About Players is to bring historical stories to life in short plays performed on the streets and parks in San Juan Capistrano.

Round About Players is organized to support the non-profit, The Alliance for Arts in San Juan Capistrano, founded by Rich Heimann.

The partners of Round About Players include:

Tom Scott, Founder and President Emeritus of Camino Real Playhouse. Tom served as President, Executive Producer, Actor, and principal set designer-builder for Camino Real Playhouse until his retirement from the board in 2020.

Beverly Blake, Vice President Emeritus of Camino Real Playhouse. Beverly was the Scenic Artist, Set Designer, and Graphic Artist for Camino Real Playhouse for the past 18 years until her retirement from the board in 2020. During her tenure, the Playhouse became well known for its outstanding sets for each production.

Gary McCarver, a prolific Melodrama playwright, Director, Actor, former Webmaster of Camino Real Playhouse, and is the current Producer of ShowOff! Reader’s Theatre. Gary has written all of the melodramas performed at Camino Real Playhouse for the past 16 years. He is often on stage as the villain as well. Our mutual goal is to bring the performing arts into the Historic District during the summer months to enhance and uplift the experience of both the residents and visitors to our community.
