San Clemente Historical Society

The San Clemente Historical Society is an all-volunteer non-profit group dedicated to preserving the history of San Clemente. Our purpose is to collect, preserve, and share the history of San Clemente for the benefit of our members and the public. Our goal is to ensure that current and future generations are able to learn about and appreciate the history of San Clemente.

Our methodology for achieving our goal includes:

• maintaining a large and growing collection of artifacts, records, and stories from our city’s past
• capturing oral histories of longtime residents
• educating the public about our city’s cultural and architectural resources
• making photographic and written material concerning our historic resources available to the public
• advocating for preservation of historic resources with city government and community groups
