THE POSITION

The City of Irvine seeks an experienced, highly organized, and creative individual to serve as Fine Arts Program Coordinator for the Irvine Fine Arts Center. The Coordinator will implement the Community Services Department Irvine Fine Arts Center Exhibit Policy, coordinate the exhibition proposal process, select artwork, prepare and administrate loan and sales agreements, coordinate insurance coverage, conduct marketing, and handle all details of exhibition implementation.

 

The ideal candidate for this position will be a professional arts administrator with experience in curating, coordinating, planning, organizing, and administering arts exhibitions and educational programs. The person must have proven ability to manage multiple projects with detailed budgets, complex schedules, and diverse stakeholders. The Coordinator must be able to work independently, as part of a team, and with outside partners. The selected candidate will also have excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and visual communication skills. Finally, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to respond positively and quickly to changing needs and constructive feedback will be critical to this person's success.

 

The Fine Arts Center is an 18,000 square foot art exhibition and education facility that was designed for art exhibition and instruction. The facility is comprised of art galleries and art studios for drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, jewelry making, photography, printmaking, and culinary arts. The Fine Arts Center is an extensively programmed facility that presents art exhibitions, arts events, and art classes up to 12 hours a day, six days a week.
