REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS for FREESTANDING ARTWORK FOR OUTDOOR COURTYARD at SANTA ANA VETERANS VILLAGE A housing project of JAMBOREE HOUSING CORPORATION located at: 3312 W. First St, Santa Ana, CA 92703 (Do NOT send correspondence to this address.)

An opportunity is open for artists to propose a work for permanent display at the Santa Ana Veterans Village (SAVV), a Permanent Supportive Housing development designed to provide critical shelter and services to homeless veterans navigating the transition off the streets. SAVV is now under construction by not-for-profit developer Jamboree Housing Corporation, and will open in Spring 2020.

Artists, private collectors, galleries, and museums/non-profit institutions are invited to submit their qualifications, design concepts or existing artworks for consideration.

Please note that: Santa Ana Veterans Village desires to provide a welcoming, comfortable and healing environment for its residents and visitors, some of whom have experienced severe war-time trauma and its after-effects. Therefore, we are seeking artworks that are uplifting in spirit and that do not employ military imagery (as may be common in memorial settings) or that have the potential to be disturbing or to trigger distress.

FEE: Not to exceed $80,000. Fee is to include design, review by a structural engineer, fabrication and delivery to site, preparation of a maintenance plan, cost of artist’s travel to site to oversee its installation by Jamboree’s contracted professional art installation subcontractor.

OWNERSHIP: Final installed work becomes the property of Santa Ana Village LP.

No application fee required DEADLINE: Aug. 1, 2019
