The Arts & Learning Conservatory is a highly awarded, leading after-school arts provider in Orange County. Our high-quality arts programs are made accessible to all children regardless of income or background as our goal is to set students up for success in life artistically, academically, and socially. Founded in 2004, the Arts & Learning Conservatory (ALC) reaches nearly 1200 children annually across 40 campuses throughout Southern California.

 

We are currently seeking an exceptional and dynamic leader for the Program Director (PD). The PD will report to and work closely with the CEO. General responsibilities include overall program/staff management and leadership of the After School Arts Program, and the strategic development, growth, and monitoring of programs at all our school sites.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  1. Effectively promotes ALC among school, parent community, and districts
  2. Responsible for effective program oversight throughout the year that includes reviewing session planning, development of class selections for students, site visits, and culminating events
  3. Complete program grants reports to align with grant objectives
  4. Skill in data tracking, record keeping, writing reports, and maintaining student and staff records
  5. Build and implement best-in-class systems, processes, procedures, and tools to support site level operations
  6. Recruit, hire, and train effective staff, capable of managing and leading courses and ensure that staff are developing high quality, comprehensive after-school programming
  7. Supervise, conduct training sessions, performance reviews and evaluations for program staff
  8. Responsible for monitoring/evaluating student attendance reports throughout the year via database systems
  9. Ensure that student records and attendance data are maintained in an accurate manner.
  10. Oversee and create program improvement goals and implement growth plans with the support of the Operations Manager
  11. Provide support for organizational operations such as verifying completed employee background checks, and oversight of employee timecards
  12. Manage the use of office facilities; supervise maintenance of facilities to ensure a clean, orderly and safe space
  13. Document program activities via video, photos, and recording student success stories.
  14. Serve as a liaison with school personnel and community groups to maintain positive public and working relations of program with community partners
  15. Occasional travel off-site meetings, trainings and events
  16. Perform other duties as assigned

  2. Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate sensitivity to others
  3. Ability to respond to critical incidents and emergency situations with swift and mindful action

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BA degree,  or equivalent training and experience
  • Three or more years, experience in programming for arts or recreation organization
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Gmail & Google Docs and Social Media

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

 

ASSETS

  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications
  • Training experience or familiarity with drama/music/dance

 

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Occasional frequent prolonged and irregular hours. Position requires employee to have a reliable vehicle to transport equipment/materials

Salary: $37,000- 40,000 yr or commensurate with qualifications and experience
