ABOUT THE SHOW
One of the most engaging performances in the history of the Buena Park Youth Theatre is coming to the stage. You won’t want to miss this one! Les Misérables is based on a 1800s French classic novel about Jean Valjean, a noble peasant and his desire for redemption, who was imprisoned for 19 years after stealing a loaf of bread for his sister’s starving child. It promises to challenge the mind and charm the heart as the story reflects upon crime and punishment and the need to escape the imprisonment of our own minds.

ABOUT THE AUDITION
Please prepare a song in your range (no pop music).  An accompanist is provided for those with sheet music, or you may bring a karaoke-style CD, without a vocal track.  A short dance routine will also be learned on the day of auditions, so appropriate attire and footwear is strongly recommended. One dance routine will be taught at each audition session - please be on time.  Missing the dance auditions will greatly affect casting decisions.  Auditions are open to all talent in Buena Park and all surrounding areas.

REHEARSALS AND PERFORMANCE DATES

ABOUT BUENA PARK YOUTH THEATRE
Founded in 1981 by former elementary school teacher Ruth Walp, the Buena Park Youth Theatre was a direct result of the budgetary cutbacks in fine arts education in public schools. Since then, the program has produced fully staged Broadway musicals with over 7000 children and teens having participated over the years. The musicals continue to receive outstanding critical acclaim and attract audiences young and old.
