The OC-centric New Play Festival seeks submissions from Orange County residents for our August 2022 festival at Chapman University in Orange.

Now in its 11th year, OC-centric presents fully staged productions of new plays, featuring actors from the OC storefront theater scene, the greater Los Angeles area, and Chapman University students.

For 2022, we are seeking one-act plays that are between 30 and 60 minutes long and full-length plays that are a maximum of 90 minutes long. We are especially interested in plays with music or songs (rather than musicals with distinct choreography and scores).

Submit scripts to occentric@gmail.com by January 24, 2022 in PDF or MS Word format.

• Playwrights must reside or hail from Orange County, California
• Each play we produce will receive 10 performances during the festival
• No restrictions on language or subject matter, but no nudity
• Plays should have casts of 12 or less
• Producible in a black box theatre space with playing area of approximately 20' x 25'
• Playwrights may submit a maximum of two plays
• Include playwright’s name and contact information on the title page of the script(s)
• Playwrights will receive a small honorarium/royalty
• No submission fees
