Segerstrom Center for the Arts is committed to providing all residents in this region with opportunities to enhance their knowledge of and appreciation for the performing arts. This includes students from elementary school through the university level, educators and individuals who simply want to broaden their experiences but not in a structure that is strictly academic. These programs achieve two especially important objectives: they develop the audiences of the future and, by integrating the arts into the standard curriculum, enhance learning, creative thinking, cognitive and social skills.
On Stage at the Center offers distinguished performing arts companies from around the world who present educational programming to local students. These shows are designed as a starting point to stimulate greater understanding and appreciation of the performing arts. Teacher and student activity guides are developed for each event to continue the learning experience after the performance.

In this region of West Africa where a drought has persisted for a very long time, stands an ancient baobab tree. One day, the baobab brings forth an egg and from it a special little boy is born who has the power to save his village from its suffering. And so begins a quest during which only the courage of a child might change the history of the world. This creative young company from Quebec uses puppets, actors and live musicians on stage in original and fascinating ways to touch and inspire their audience.
