Southland Opera is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation dedicated to bringing high-quality programming to audiences throughout Southern California.
In addition to having a strong adult outreach program, Southland Opera is committed to bringing opera and musical theatre into the classroom. We recognize the value of the arts in enhancing learning. Through our Educational Outreach Program, we have performed over 6,000 music workshops and assemblies for nearly two million local children. We are devoted to presenting productions on school campuses that are fresh, exciting, accessible and consistent with the standards of performing excellence.

Adventures in Song and Story uses familiar fairy tales and stories as a way to introduce children to operas, musicals and operetta.
In this two person, musical assembly, children will:
* Learn a dance with Hansel and Gretel
* Meet the Three Little Maids from the Mikado
* Lament with the dear, sweet, evil stepsisters because Cinderella stole their prince.
* Sing a song with Maria from The Sound of Music
And much, much more!!
Adventures in Song and Story is ideal for family series, in-school programs or family festival performances. It is highly interactive and brightly costumed, quick paced, educational and entertaining.
