We’re so accustomed to seeing wonderful choral repertoire from the pens of male composers that we seldom stop to wonder why. Well, it’s time to wonder why their voice isn’t louder.  Our Music Director, Dr. Brian Dehn, is turning that expectation on its head to present a program of music from women composers spanning the years from Hildegard de Bingen (1098 – 1179), writer, composer, philosopher, mystic and visionary, to Baroque virtuosos Alleotti and Leonarda, fantastic part songs by Clara Schumann, Fanny Mendelssohn and Lili Boulanger, alongside modern musical geniuses Elaine Hagenberg, Emma Lou Diemer, Cecilia McDowall, and Carol King.
