Henry Mann is a once-lauded theatre director whose career and personal life are on the skids. With an unexpected opportunity to stage a new work for the first time in years, he hopes to mount a project that may be both a redemption and a farewell. Assembling a company of unlikely collaborators and drawing on the landscape of a dream, he fumbles desperately through process while seeking a resolution, but as opening night draws near, identities cross, reality blinks, and the line between metaphor and mortality is obliterated. Monuments is a boisterous and dark comic romp through the shifting and sometimes overlapping natures of reality, art, identity and perception.
