Sam Quinones, a journalist, storyteller, former LA Times reporter, and author of three acclaimed books of narrative nonfiction including Dreamland: The True Tale of America's Opiate Epidemic, True Tales From Another Mexico: The Lynch Mob, the Popsicle Kings, Chalino and the Bronx, Antonio's Gun, Delfino's Dream: True Tales of Mexican Migration and the newly published book: The Virgin of the American Dream will present his research and photographs of the Guadalupe images across Los Angeles as she is used as a protector of small businesses, whose owners use her image to dissuade gang members from defacing their businesses.
