Enjoy music & dance performances, storytelling, riddles & art-making activities at OC Lantern Festival
Pacific Symphony and South Coast Chinese Cultural Center invite all ages to experience the free O.C. Lantern Festival celebrating the Year of the Dragon at the beautiful Segerstrom Center for the Arts. O.C. Lantern Festival marks the end of the Lunar New Year with a celebration with music, dance, art making, riddles and food. Segerstrom concert hall lobby will be transformed for the festivities with floating lanterns and Segerstrom Concert Hall will showcase performances featuring local music and dance groups.
The Lantern Festival marks the return of spring and the reunion of family. The act of lighting and appreciating lanterns is a way for people to let go of the burdens of their old selves and express their best wishes for themselves and their families for the future.
Community groups will also take the stage on the Argyros Plaza outside the concert hall, providing educational demonstrations of martial arts, traditional and contemporary music and dance, Chinese YoYo, and more. The entire event will culminate in a dragon dance on the plaza. No ticket is needed to attend the plaza festivities.
Reserve your free ticket to attend. Seating is first-come in the Concert Hall.
