Edith Crash | Ascent | MacKenzie Rose
Edith Crash is a singer-songwriter, musician and one woman band. Her music—sung in French, Spanish, and English—transcends the international origins by blending them all into one cohesive project. Inspired by dark experimentalism of vastly different artists such as Portishead, Jacques Brel, and PJ Harvey, Crash’s dynamic mix of folk and grunge is as much of a cross-cultural creation as the singer herself. Born in France, raised in Spain, and based now in Los Angeles, Crash’s songs defy genre by pulling bits and pieces from clamoring post-punk, bluesy folk, and vigorous Spanish guitar. See video below.
Ascent is a female fronted, alternative rock duo that is captivating LA and OC by producing the sound of a full band with only two band members. Gritty guitar, propulsive rhythms and commanding, melodic vocals equal a new, undefinable sound. They will perform an acoustic set for this concert.
Singer-songwriter MacKenzie Rose blends Americana folk with clear, whimsical lyrics in an expression of the global experience. Originally from Seattle, Washington, she currently attends Soka University of America, where she studies music, language, and the environment.
