Parfleche Bags - The artistry of the Indigenous Peoples of the Great Plains is expressed in the decoration of their everyday items. Parfleche bags were made of decorated rawhide and carried important belongings. French traders called these bags "parfleches," from the French words parer, meaning “parry” or “defend,” and, flêche, meaning arrow,” because the hide was tough enough to deflect an arrow. Join us to create your own parfleche-inspired bag for summer.
