The Environmental Nature Center welcomes 3rd through 6th grade teachers to engage in mini-workshops to teach NGSS concepts in their own classrooms.
The ENC is presenting “Teachers Night Out!” on Thursday, March 30, from 4-7pm where 3rd through 6th grade teachers can enjoy mini-workshops throughout the Nature Center, and learn hands-on activities to teach NGSS concepts in their own classrooms.
Our Community Outreach Director Sama Wareh will do a hands-on “magnet art” project to demonstrate ways to connect Common Core Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards to art.
Teachers will also engage in hands-on activities about aquatic ecosystems and water conservation that they can use in their own classroom using NGSS concepts.
Food, drinks, and a campfire will round out the evening! Attendees will be entered to win a teacher professional development program for their school, receive priority booking for 2017-2018 school programs, and receive free curricular and instructional resources.
Admission is $5.
