The culminating concert of John Alexander’s final season as Pacific Chorale’s Artistic Director features “A Sea Symphony” by Ralph Vaughan Williams.
The adventure and excitement of a sea voyage becomes an extravagant metaphor for the soul’s journey into the infinite, as the music of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ A Sea Symphony brings Walt Whitman’s transcendent poetry to glorious life. Be there for this culminating concert of John Alexander’s 45th and final season as Pacific Chorale’s Artistic Director!
Featuring Pacific Chorale and Pacific Symphony, with soprano Layla Claire and baritone Brian Mulligan. Also on the program are nautical-themed works by Beethoven (Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage) and Samuel Barber (To Be Sung on the Water), as well as folk songs and hymns including "Shenandoah."
