Portrait painting can be very intimidating, especially in watercolor. During her workshop, award winning watercolor artist Fealing Lin will teach you how to relax and enjoy the process as you discover the spontaneity and uniqueness of watercolor. Though guided lecture and demonstration, plus one-on-one assistance and critique, this class allows students to learn essential techniques while working at their own pace. Topics will include how value and temperature change across the planes of the face, how to use transparent glazes to allow the glow of the paper to shine through, and how to balance colors, lights, and darks to achieve successful portraits.
