Back by popular demand, Grammy-winning pianist Emanuel Ax performs at Soka Performing Arts Center for the third time in its short history.
Emanuel Ax captured public attention in 1974 when he won the first Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition in Tel Aviv. In 1975 he won the Michaels Award of Young Concert Artists followed four years later by the coveted Avery Fisher Prize. Ax has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Berlin Philharmonic, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, London Symphony, Czech Philharmonic, Tonhalle Zurich and the National Orchestras of Toulouse and Lyon. Ax won Grammy Awards for his recordings of Haydn’s piano sonatas, as well as his series of recordings with cellist Yo-Yo Ma.
