Calvin Liang was born in Canton, China and completed his art education at the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts. After moving to the United States, Liang had a successful career as an animator, including work with Disney Studio and Nickelodeon. His fascination with the California landscape led him to devote himself full-time to his passion for plein air painting. Calvin is a Master Signature Member of the Oil Painters of America and a Signature Member of the California Art Club. He was recently honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 18th Annual Laguna Beach Plein Air Invitational and the Bronze Medal at the National Juried Exhibition of Oil Painters of America.
