Join us for one of the most highly anticipated plein air fine art premieres in the country.
Attend this exciting gala to have the exclusive opportunity to meet and mingle with 35 of the nation’s top plein air artists, and be the first to view and purchase original works of plein air art created during the week for the 19th Annual Laguna Beach Plein Air Painting Invitational, in advance of the general public.
Be the first to learn of the award winning artists and artwork. Each of the 35 artists will submit what they consider to be their three “best” paintings created during the Invitational week to be judged for the awards to be revealed during the gala reception. Artists are competing for over $20,000 in cash and prizes, including the coveted $10,000 Best in Show award.
In addition to the 105 paintings showcased for the prize competition, each artist will have a selection of additional paintings created during the week and/or from their private studios; cover 300 original works of art in all! Invitational artwork will only be available at the Collectors Gala and Sunday's Invitational Art Show. Artwork sold during the Collectors Gala will go home with its collector at the end of the evening, and sold artwork will be refreshed for Sunday's show.
Doors will open at 7pm (immediately following the private reception for VIP Sponsors and Donors) and art sales will commence. Guests will enjoy a magical evening under the stars with artists and art lovers, as LPAPA creates the ultimate plein air fine art experience… meet and mingle with the artists, enjoy delicious cuisine selections, no-host fine wines and lively cocktail selections. A special 2017 collectable Art Catalogue, created exclusively for this event, and complimentary valet parking are included in the ticket price.
Proceeds from the sale of artwork benefits the artists and nonprofit Laguna Plein Air Painters Association and its mission to preserve the plein air painting tradition and Laguna's 100+ year old artistic legacy.

There will be an exclusive private pre-event reception for our Invitational Sponsors from 6pm-7pm, who will have the "first look" and be able to make purchases of artwork commencing at 6:45pm before the doors open to the gala ticket holders at 7pm.

All Gala Ticket holders, Invitational Sponsors and Invitational Patrons, will be granted early entry to the Invitational Art Show on Sunday October 15th at 9:00 am (a full hour before the doors open to the public) to have the first opportunity to see new artwork submitted by the Invitational Artists.

The Laguna Plein Air Collectors Gala is presented in conjunction with the 19th Annual Laguna Beach Plein Air Painting Invitational, a 9-day plein air art festival and painting competition showcasing 35 of the nation's top plein air painters.
With the exception of the Collectors Gala, all other events are free and open to the public.
