University Band

Presented by CSU Fullerton - College of the Arts and Imagination Celebration at Meng Concert Hall, Cal State Fullerton

Ticheli | Fortress
Holst | First Suite in Eb for Military Band
Grainger | Children's March
Jack Stamp’s Four Missouri Songs with soprano Kendall Harb.

As a memorial to the beloved wind band composer David Maslanka, the ensemble will also perform “A Quiet Song” from his  Heart Songs.

The second half of the concert will feature a performance by special guest ensemble Pacific Brass, directed by Steve Mahpar.

We believe that music is a life-long activity, and want every student regardless of their major to have an opportunity to continue playing. The University Band is designed and structured for the student pursuing music as a hobby. The ensemble is conducted by Dr. Dickey and assisted by graduate students, making this a unique learning opportunity for ensemble members and conductors alike.

Conducted by Marc Dickey, the band meets one day per week for 1 hour and 50 minute rehearsals. There are no auditions for membership, but there are auditions for seating. The time commitment outside of class is limited to one or two concerts per semester, and there are no sectional requirements.
