Shelby and Tieg, an LA-based folk-pop duo, have been described as a modern Simon & Garfunkel (if one was a girl).  Though they try to disguise their compositions with complex harmonies and intricate guitar, there’s no escaping that what they sing are fun pop songs that aim to make you smile.  From master’s degrees at Cal Arts, to music graduates of USC and more, their credentials are enough to intimidate most.  Come hear the other side of Shelby and Tieg where eddies of flute and violin pirouette between vocal lines atop the syncopated rhythms of the double bass and cajón.  This band has tons of fun on stage which is quite obvious and contagious to any audience!

JC and Laney are acoustic Americana balladeers.  Laney Greynolds calls upon her years of singing in Rock & Roll, Country & Pop Bands. She can belt out songs out with gospel fury and energy and then get playful and laugh-out-loud funny in the next tune.  The other half of the duo, JC Scott and his acoustic guitar, is the engine that drives this train.  He has spent years playing guitar and singing with such high-level musicians & creators as Arlo Guthrie, Lindsay Buckingham, Kenny Loggins and Weird Al.  In their third appearance at The Living Traditions Concert Series, JC and Laney will perform their original compositions, running the gamut from folk, blues, pop, ballads, rock and comedy.  You can hear their music at www.jcandlaney.com as well as Pandora, iHeart Radio, Spotify, NPR, and dozens of internet stations.
