Zeena Parkins is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and improviser, a pioneer of the electric harp and a fearless proponent of its acoustic original, inventing extraordinary playing techniques and layers of electronic processing. She will perform Captiva, an original multi-movement composition, working on the macro-level to explore a compendium of possibilities on the acoustic harp. On the micro-level, improvisational strategies are deployed on designated clips of composed fragments to trigger new material.
