HB APA Presents Noises Off!

HB APA Presents Noises Off!

Presented by Huntington Beach Academy for the Performing Arts at Huntington Beach High School Historic Auditorium

In its 25th year, the Huntington Beach Academy for the Performing Arts (HB APA) revives its first play, “Noises Off!” which premiered on the Historic HBUHSD Auditorium stage in December of 1993.

A Tony Award-winning hit called the funniest farce ever written, “Noises Off!” presents a manic menagerie as a cast of itinerant actors rehearse a flop called “Nothing's On.” Doors slamming, on and offstage intrigue, and an errant herring all figure into the plot of this hilarious and classically comic play.

The Huntington Beach Academy for the Performing Arts (HB APA) is “igniting the creative artists of the future.” HB APA is known for its award-winning theatre and musical theatre shows, accomplished dance program, strong orchestra, innovative Music Media and Entertainment Technology (MMET) program, and professional-grade, career-oriented Technical Theatre and Costume Design departments.

About the historical mural reveal

HB APA, the HBHS Foundation and APA Student Council all commissioned an artist, Melissa Murphy, to paint a historical mural in the upstairs foyer of the Historic HBUHSD Auditorium under the artistic guidance of retired HBUHSD arts facilitator and department coordinator, Mary Ellen Kile. The mural is a representation of Huntington Beach through the ages, showing various stages of historical points in Surf City, USA. It includes integral institutions and businesses that have serviced the city and kept it outstanding. This event will be attended by city council, Chamber of Commerce and supportive community members.
