Baroque Music Festival Corona del Mar 2018: Opening Concert – Parisian Divertissements

Presented by Baroque Music Festival, Corona Del Mar at Unknown

Artistic Director Elizabeth Blumenstock leads the Festival Orchestra in instrumental music originally performed in the 18th-century “Concert spirituel” series in Paris — including a violin concerto by Leclair and Corelli’s beloved “Christmas" Concerto — plus ballet suites by Telemann and Rameau. Preceded by brass music on the patio at 3:15 pm and followed by a reception.

Book a Festival Subscription to receive premium seating for all five concerts and an invitation to the exclusive Festival Finale dinner at the Farmhouse Restaurant Roger’s Gardens, Corona del Mar.

Elizabeth Blumenstock is a longtime concertmaster, soloist and director with the Bay Area’s Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and the American Bach Soloists; concertmaster of the International Handel Festival in Goettingen, Germany; and Artistic Director of the Baroque Music Festival, Corona del Mar. She is widely admired as a Baroque violinist of expressive eloquence. Ms Blumenstock plays a violin built by Andrea Guarneri in 1660, in Cremona, which is on generous loan to her from the Philharmonia Baroque Period Instrument Trust.
