Art-A-Fair hosts daily workshops for beginning- through intermediate-level artists. Expand, indulge and perfect your artistic horizons in weekly class sessions at a very affordable price. Purchase as many or as few sessions as you like.

Traditional Watercolor: Emilee Reed
TOPICS: Composition & how to “see”; protecting the white of the paper; keeping colors fresh; warm, cool & complimentary colors; techniques for using the paint in conjunction with other tools. Subject matter will cover still life & painting from photos.

Palette Knife Oils: Lori Quarton
TOPICS: Elements of design: the roles played by dominance, contrast & harmony; elements of composition: the roles played by value, size, shape & color; color mixing; using oil paint successfully.
TUESDAYS July 1 - August 26

Acrylic: Carol Heiman-Greene
TOPICS: Rules of composition; basic rendering; working & glazing with acrylic paint; defining the light source & bounced light. Subject matter will cover realism in nature & wildlife.
WEDNESDAYS July 2 - August 27

Collage: Agnes Copeland
TOPICS: Color, composition & value; using a variety of papers to express whimsical ideas; interpretation. Subject matter will include scenes from around the world & on the beach.
THURSDAYS July 3 - August 28

Watercolor: Barbara Kimmel-Palmer
TOPICS: Composition, wet-in-wet techniques, dramatic lighting; saving the white of the paper. Subject matter will include florals, children, land & seascapes, still-life and portraiture.

Watercolor: Robin Wethe Altman
TOPICS: Using watercolor paint; tricks of the trade, use of color, composition and design. Subject matter will include tropical landscapes & the ocean.

Traditional Oils: Bill Denham
TOPICS: Glazing with oil paint; the concept of color; creating landscapes through imagination. Subject matter will cover California-style landscapes.
SUNDAYS June 29 - July 27
MONDAYS August 4 - August 25

Class size is limited to six students (must be at least 16 years of age). All supplies are included, though students are encouraged to bring their own supplies if they wish, as well as a sample of their work. Classes begin Friday, June 27th and will include a 45 minute break for lunch. Take advantage of Tivoli Too!’s boxed lunch, or bring your own brown bag.

Classes will fill quickly, and reservations are on a first-purchased-first-served basis. To reserve your seat and pay in advance, contact the Art-A-Fair office at 949.494.4514. If seats remain, classes may also be purchased at the sales booth on the festival grounds.

Workshop fees are non-refundable. Art-A-Fair is not responsible for damages incurred during workshop participation.
