The City of Santa Ana – Arts & Culture Initiative is partnering with Segerstrom Center for the Arts to present this FREE workshop providing tools and resources redefining what “success” means to professional artists.
Lunch will be provided.
Parking = $10 (cash only) in parking structure, directions here. OR free parking in nearby shopping areas.
Sustaining the passion for your art in this financial climate is a challenge, especially when “art” has become more of a commodity and many artists are convinced that the only way to make a living from their work is to be represented by a gallery or perform on Broadway. It is more important than ever to show the reality of how professional, contemporary artists sustain their creative practice over time.
The workshop will begin with an introductory presentation that will touch on questions such as “How do you diversify income streams to sustain a healthy art practice?” “How can you find an alternative to the gallery system” and “What are digital marketing best practices?" This will be followed by breakout sessions drilling deeper into the topics of “Marketing in the Arts” and “Expanding Revenue Sources.” The day will not only focus on current and future opportunities and challenges in working in the arts, but also provide opportunities for networking and collaboration of ideas.
Workshop will be led by master artists from Segerstrom.
