This summer Pretend City is introducing the Ultimate Recycling Machine. This large scale hands-on experience geared towards school-aged children combines engineering, collaboration, and sustainability. The challenge is to design and build a machine, “the Ultimate Recycling Invention” that transports a plastic bottle into a recycling bin. Or the challenge could be to create a roller coaster that carries a marble or golf ball. It always looks different, with combinations of tube structures, zip lines, pulleys, pendulums, and more. This new activity is ideal for intergenerational participation – grown-ups and children alike will be fully engaged. Be amazed by how much creativity, tenacity and teamwork emerges from this simple set-up!
