Harp Traditions of Latin America - Concert of the Masters

Presented by Orange County Children's Therapeutic Arts Center (OCCTAC) at Phillips Hall Theatre

OC Therapeutic Arts Center will host the ‘Harp Traditions of Latin America’ CONCERT of the MASTERS on June 28, 2014 at Phillips Hall in Santa Ana, California – sponsored by the NATIONAL ENDOWMENT for the ARTS. Accompanied with beautiful sounds from Latin American musicians, the Paraguayan Harp, Jarocho Harp from Veracruz, Mexico, and Llanero Harp from Colombia led are highlighted and performed by the top Maestro representatives of each tradition. Prior to the event on the 27th is a community reception and cultural exchange roundtable, all culminating with the Concert of the Maestros as the closing event on the final evening of the Event. Each type of music will be highlighted during a segment of the concert, and Advanced Music students will play the song that they rehearsed under the instruction of the Maestros, with the Maestros, as part of the concert performance.

Additional time info:

There will be a Silent Auction at 5:00pm prior to the Concert of the Masters. There will also be a 15 minute intermission where they will announce the winners of the auction. Proceeds of this event go to providing Arts Access and Education to At-Risk Youth and Children and Youth with Special Needs
