The Refugee Hotel

The Refugee Hotel

Presented by Claire Trevor School of the Arts at UC Irvine (CTSA) at Robert Cohen Theatre

Written by Carmen Aguirre

Directed by Juliette Carrillo

This dark comedy, set in a modest Vancouver hotel, is about Chilean refugees who struggle with the various tragicomic effects of fleeing their homeland. Laid bare in the fictionalized autobiographical details of the play are universal truths that victims and survivors of political oppression continue to experience everywhere – and about love’s power to heal.
